The Vivo Y91i became available to the public since December 2018. It’s a budget version of the Y91 with a price tag of RM599, RM200 cheaper than the original model.
However, what’s the difference between these two phones? Is it worth getting the budget Y91i for a lower price? Check out the comparison we made between the Y91 and the Y91i:
Both phones come in black and blue, but the Y91i also comes in red. While the Y91 is made of plastic with a glossy finish, the Y91i is built with polycarbonate. Other than the material and the colour, both smartphones share the same dimension and weight.
The Y91 and the Y91i have the same OS, which is the Android 8.1 Orea with Funtouch OS 4.5. They share the same chipset, CPU and GPU. However, the Y91 has an extra 1GB RAM.
Regarding the storage space, the Y91i has only 16GB, significantly lesser than the Y91, which you can choose to have 32GB or 6GB. They do both have the same expansion storage of 256GB via microSD.
There’s no difference in the camera quality between these two phones. Both phones have the same rear camera of 13 Megapixels and 2 Megapixels depth sensor. They have a LED flash and 8 Megapixels front cameras.
Although the Y91i is cheaper, both smartphones have the same battery capacity of 4030mAh. The battery is Li-ion, and they’re unremovable.
While there isn’t much difference between the Vivo Y91 and the Vivo91i, there’s a price difference of RM200. You can consider getting the budget version if you don’t mind sacrificing the storage space. On the bright side, getting the Y91i gives an extra colour choice.
